ULTRARUNNER · 50+ FINISHES / ABOUT

50+ ultra finishes. Nearly 30 hours in one race. Experience that counts.

I'm Vilen Karimov, an ultrarunner and founder of VilRun. After more than 50 completed ultramarathons, I share first-hand lessons from hours on remote mountain trails.

FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE

50+ ultramarathon finishes. Experience racing for up to 30 hours and completing mountain ultras longer than 100 km with over 8,000 m of elevation gain. Race stats come from my personal journal; the full race archive is being expanded.

Beyond finish-line photos

Ultra running is a series of decisions about pace, hills, nutrition, the weather and recovery. I want to show what happens between the start and finish instead of offering generic success stories.

02

Two documented examples

Rosa Wild Trail 2025: 110.5 km, 7,794 m elevation gain and 29:07 according to my records. Dagestan Wild Trail 2026: a documented 11:43 finish versus a 14:20 race plan. These are only the first stories in a much larger archive.

03

Sharing practical knowledge

I help runners evaluate race routes, checkpoint targets, preparation, equipment and fuelling. My approach is grounded in first-hand ultrarunning experience, while I continue my coaching education.

From the race journal

30 hours at Rosa Wild Trail: plan versus reality

111 km, 7,800 m of climbing, heat, cold, gastrointestinal issues in the second half and a storm before the finish.
